Nantucket, Massachusetts, an idyllic island paradise

You do not have to get out of the country to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Nantucket, Massachusetts, must be visited at least once in your lifetime, so you will be able to find out why a lot of millionaires and celebrities have summer homes in Nantucket.

Located 30 miles off the shore of Cape Cod, Nantucket is a popular tourist destination especially during the summer. It is inhabited by less than 11 thousand people but during the summer, the population increases to about 50,000 due to the influx of tourists and summer residents. It covers a total area of 105.3 square miles, and Nantucket town called the “Town” by the locals is the population center of the island. It is a National Historic Landmark because it is where you will find the largest concentration of houses built before 1850. The best way to get to the island is via ferry boats from Hyannis. There are scheduled trips daily, one of which is capable of ferrying cars, bikes and other leisure equipment. The traditional ferry takes about two hours and a half, while the high-speed ferry will take only an hour.

Nantucket is where you can enjoy water activities in its beaches such as the Madaket Beach, Surfside Beach, Cisco Beach, and Jetties Beach. If you want to have a fantastic view point of the island and the sea, you must visit the Brant Point Lighthouse, Sankaty Head Lighthouse, and the Great Point Light.  Its top attractions include the Whaling Museum, Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum, Nantucket Vineyard, Cisco Brewery and Triple Eight Distillery, Nantucket Atheneum, Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum, Old Gaol, and the Jethro Coffin House.
